About the workshop

  • The first 10 minutes will be spent introducing myself and my Artistic journey and explaining why I decided to host watercolour workshops. I will then explain the workshop's objectives and stages and show you a couple of Artists who have inspired me to paint flowers and koi fishes.

  • The following hour we will play with water, paint and various brush types to practice a series of strokes and watercolour techniques that will help you gain a bit of knowledge and practice of the medium. I will explain and show you some quick, simple techniques and brushwork that will wow you and build your confidence to paint with watercolour. This, I find, is a nice & relaxed way to get familiar with the paints and materials and a good warm up exercise before painting your main project :)

  • Then the real fun can begin! you will spend the remainder of the workshop creating a (pre-drawn) flower or Koi fish painting using the techniques we have just learned. You will also be free to paint your flower composition straight from imagination, that is entirely up to you! My course is all about relaxation and having fun, and you get to bring your chef d'oeuvre home, and frame it if you wish :)

  • Each participant gets to bring their artwork home and I will provide you with a hard board and protective sleeve to take it home, safely protected.

  • My Workshops are run in my home studio and I am suitably insured to do so.

  • My workshops are suitable for complete beginners to intermediate level, so please don’t feel like you require any previous experience with drawing or painting to attend.

  • After attending one of my Workshops you will have a new artwork to hang on your wall and show off on social media (don't forget to tag me!:-)).

  • Got questions? Click here to contact me.

  • Terms: If you can no longer attend a Workshop having already placed a booking, I require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for either cancellation or to move you on to a later Workshop. If a minimum of 2 weeks' notice is not provided a refund (or alternative booking date) cannot be offered. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
