Commissions

I work from your photos. These need to be of good quality as I pretty much draw/paint what I see. That means that it should be a high-resolution, crisp image with good lighting (not over or under-exposed, or captured using flash). If the photo is too fuzzy when I zoom in on the subject to be painted, I will ask for alternative, clearer photos. Please include the photo(s) that you would like me to work from (or wish to discuss) in the submission form or attach it/them to an email.

The size and type of the painting should be selected depending on several factors. I am always happy to advise on the size, style, and ambiance of the portrait. If you are unsure about what kind of portrait would best suit your home or office, we can discuss this together by email or phone call.

Pricing depends on the commissioned subject, the complexity of the painting and the size. To receive a quote, please use the submission form. Please note that I require payment to be received (in full)  before commencing the work. Any additional fees (shipping/mounting) will also be payable at this time. 

To ensure timely delivery, kindly place your order with a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice for the creation of your portrait. Please also consider the additional shipping time from the UK to your location/destination. I will discuss this with you at the time of your initial enquiry to avoid any surprises.

I am happy to advise on framing, but framing is not a service that I offer.

If you live near to my studio (Gartcosh, Scotland), I am happy for you to collect your artwork in person to save you the cost of shipping. Otherwise, I will ship your work in reinforced packaging (postal tube or flat depending on the size). All parcels will be tracked and insured.

Every client and all commissions are unique, that's why I cannot provide an exact quote until I know more about the complexity of your request.  I’ve listed below my starting prices for a person or a pet portrait according to size. Additional subjects and complex backgrounds will increase the price. You can use the form herewith to get in touch and discuss your idea and send me your photos. I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours with a bespoke quote.

Pet portrait (Watercolour or pencils):

A4 size (21 x 30 cm) - £150 + shipping

A3 size (30 x 42cm): £250 + shipping

A2 size (42 x 60 cm): £350 + shipping

People portrait (Watercolour or pencils): 

A4 size (21 x 30 cm): £180 + shipping

A3 size (30 x 42cm): £280 + shipping

A2 size (42 x 60 cm): £380 + shipping

Personalised cartoon (Watercolour only – coloured or black & white):

A4 size - £120. For a single-person cartoon with additional elements added and a background. 

A3 size - £200. For a single-person cartoon with additional elements added and a background. For multiple characters being added to the same cartoon, please contact me for a bespoke quote.
